The Eros Vase, one of Mozaik Collection limited edition products, is limited to 1000 pieces. This vase is the 0146 copy of this special series.
The mosaic portraying Eros riding Hippocampus is a floor mosaic that was discovered in the Adana Yumurtaltk excavations and is dated back to the first half of 3rd century A.D. In the middle of the panel framed by a large band, in the center of the mosaic, there are four separate mythological figures. Eros figures of different ages and different sizes are depicted here, holding a fish and riding two Hippocampi. In their hands are fishing rods and the fish they have caught. The yellow fish is thought to be a red mullet, the other one a sea bass and the unattached one, a grouper. the panel also features a cone-shaped seashell. This mosaic is significant as it is the only example with Eros riding the Hippocampus.
The Eros Vase is of handmade caramel glass and its decorative reliefs have also been produced by hand, plated with 24-carat gold, each mosaic piece painted with a special glass paint.
*Hippocampus is a half-horse, half-fish sea creature that is portrayed either with or without wings.Together with other sea creatures, Hippocampus is a servant of Poseidon.
This product has been made for decorative purposes. it is recommended to use a dry cloth to clean it. it should not come into contact with a damp cloth or water.
